Why EMDR Intensives Work: Deep Healing in Less Time

Online & In-person in TEXAS

Why would you consider an EMDR intensive instead of ongoing weekly therapy?

Because you don’t always need more time—you need more focus.

Weekly therapy can be transformative, but it can also stretch out healing for months (or years), especially when sessions are short, interrupted by life, or used just to stabilize. EMDR intensives offer something different: dedicated, immersive time to go deep, move through stuck points, and create real momentum—fast.

Think of it like this:
You could try to untangle a knot once a week for 50 minutes... or you could sit down with skill, clarity, and intention, and finally unravel the whole thing.

What makes intensives worth the upfront investment?

  • Instead of 3–6 months of weekly sessions, we condense focused trauma work into a single day or short series. Ideal for busy professionals, creatives, and caregivers who don’t have the luxury of long timelines.

  • Weekly therapy offers steady, real-time connection that builds trust and insight over time. Intensives deepen that work without the risk of losing precious time to settling in or winding down, just sustained focus with full nervous system support.

  • Clients often experience breakthroughs in a matter of hours that would’ve taken months in traditional therapy. That doesn’t mean it’s magic, but it is effective.

  • Already in therapy elsewhere? Intensives can be used to target one specific issue while staying connected to your primary therapist. Many clinicians refer to me for this kind of short-term, results-oriented work.

  • You’ll get prep materials, integration support, and an intentional treatment plan that adapts to your specific strengths and needs, as well as post-intensive support and a plan for what’s next. An intensive is not just a long therapy session slapped with the word “intensive.”

WHO SHOULD CONSIDER a therapy intensive

  • People who’ve done a lot of therapy already but still feel stuck

  • Adults navigating trauma, performance anxiety, relational wounds, or burnout

  • Teens or young adults needing focused support before or after a major transition (e.g., starting school, coming out, moving away)

  • Anyone with a complex story and not enough time for slow-burn healing

  • People just starting therapy but needing a kickstart to the work

WHO SHOULD not CONSIDER a therapy intensive

  • People in active crisis or struggling with suicidal thoughts without consistent support

  • Adults navigating untreated psychosis, dissociation, or ongoing trauma exposure that makes emotional safety hard to access

  • Clients whose substance use makes it difficult to stay present or grounded during therapy

  • Anyone who hasn’t yet developed basic emotional regulation skills—though some intensives are designed specifically to build these capacities

  • Those without time, space, or support to rest and integrate after doing intensive work

If you've spent thousands of dollars on therapy that only scratched the surface, or you're tired of making slow progress because life keeps interrupting your process, an intensive may be the most direct, powerful investment you can make in your emotional well-being.

It’s not cheap—but it’s not supposed to be.
It’s a high-touch, high-care model designed for people who are ready to go there.

4-Hour Intensive: Focused Reset

A 4-hour intensive is perfect for targeted support around a specific issue—like a recent trigger, relationship pattern, or performance block. We’ll spend time grounding and clarifying your goals, then move into focused work using EMDR or other somatic and relational tools. This is ideal if you’re feeling stuck between sessions or need a jumpstart to reconnect with your inner clarity and resilience.

8-Hour Intensive: Deep Dive

The 8-hour intensive offers a full-day, immersive space to explore stuck patterns or trauma themes with enough time to process and integrate. We’ll move at your nervous system’s pace, with intentional breaks and co-regulation built in. This format supports significant progress on longstanding issues and often feels like the equivalent of several months of therapy in one day. Ideal for those with limited availability or approaching a life transition.

12-Hour Intensive: Transformational Reset

The 12-hour intensive is a powerful, two-day experience designed for deep healing and integration. Whether you’re working through complex trauma, preparing for a major life change, or seeking clarity after years of feeling stuck, this format offers sustained, supported time to do the work that weekly therapy often can’t reach. Day one is focused on groundwork and initial processing; day two offers extended integration, repair, and future-facing strategy.

What we’ll work on

Therapy can help:

  • Deepen self-understanding and cultivate compassionate self-acceptance

  • Build language and inner clarity to advocate for your needs and boundaries

  • Explore relational patterns and strengthen your capacity for meaningful connection

  • Develop nervous system tools to manage overwhelm and foster long-term resilience

  • Reclaim a life shaped by your values and strengths—not just your survival strategies

You are remarkable.

I’M HERE TO HELP you discover that.
