Fees
What are your fees?
My fees vary depending on the type of service. For 50-minute individual/couples sessions, instead of one fixed price, I offer a range, which helps more people access care.
Full fee: $155-$185
Middle fee: $135 to $150
Low fee: $130
Why do you use a fee range instead of one set price?
Because healing happens in community, and fair pricing isn’t one-size-fits-all. A range lets clients choose what feels financially honest and sustainable for them.
What goes into determining your fee range?
I set my fee range based on:
Business costs (overhead): rent or office space, HIPAA-compliant software, phone, internet, clinical tools, continuing education, art supplies, taxes, fidgets, snacks, and administrative support.
Running a safe and ethical practice: liability insurance, licensing fees, and legal compliance costs required to maintain active clinical licensure.
Training and expertise: the cost of earning a graduate degree, clinical supervision hours, and exams needed to become a licensed therapist.
Advanced/specialized training: additional certifications and intensive trainings for the modalities I use, such as EMDR, EFFT, parts work, advanced trainings in eating disorder treatment, ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, etc. cost additional tens thousands of dollars often just to get started.
Ongoing professional development: therapists must complete regular continuing education courses a) to keep licenses active and b) stay current on best practices.
Time behind the scenes: session prep, documentation, care coordination, and consultation that happen outside of the therapy hour but are an integral part of your care.
The range allows fees to reflect real business costs and different client financial capacities, while keeping care equitable and sustainable.
What is equity-based or community-supported pricing?
It means those who can pay more voluntarily do so, which helps offset care for those who need a lower rate. This creates a shared system where therapy is more accessible for everyone. This is NOT a traditional sliding scale because I am not using your income to make this determination. You are making the best choice based on what works best for you and your current circumstances.
How do I know what part of the range to choose?
A good rule of thumb:
Choose the lower end if paying the full rate would strain your basic needs (rent, food, healthcare, childcare, etc.)
Choose the middle if the full rate is doable but would feel tight
Choose the higher end if you have the flexibility and want to support community access
Will choosing a lower rate affect the quality of my care?
No. This is not Temu therapy. Every client receives the same level of clinical attention. It’s a give-when-you-can, receive-what-you-need system, not a cheap substitute, charity, or a sales gimmick. If I don’t have a space for you that fits your financial need, I will provide you referrals to clinicians I trust who may have openings.
Can we adjust my rate later if my financial situation changes?
Probably. You can request a fee change anytime—no shame, no lecture, just a conversation.
Are further reduced sessions below $120 ever available?
My ultra-reduced and pro bono spots are available by request (in full transparency, are usually scooped up right away or end up being used for current clients whose financial circumstances change and therefore may not available when requested by new clients).
Do you offer packages for intensive therapy (like EMDR intensives)?
Yes. Intensive services may use:
Per session pricing within a range, or
Optional bundled day or multi-week packages depending on the service
